Logout - additional information

Additional Information to the 'Starting and Closing USU Service Management' topic:

  • Session timeout

When there is no activity in the opened web client recorded for a longer time (the time interval is set by the system administrator), you will be logged out automatically and your session with the server will expire. A 're-login' screen appears.

Note: The status of your work will be lost with the expired session (the opened catalogs, opened objects...).

Web client with the Screen Reader Mode enabled informs a user about being inactive 5 minutes before the session timeout occurs via a dialog warning message. The time interval in which the web client shows the warning dialog can be set by changing a value of the VMWeb sessionMonitorTimeoutWarning Main Parameter.

The Client-side session activity monitoring can be disabled altogether by setting the VMWeb sessionMonitorEnabled Main Parameter to 'false'.

  • Automated re-login

You can be logged in automatically after your session expires, in case that the SSO authentication is set up and the auto-relogin functionality is switched on (it is set by the system administrator). Nevertheless, the status of your work will be lost with the expired session as well.

See the vmconfig.properties topic for technical information.

  • Logout page

When you log in, the Web Client gets opened in a new pop-up window. After you log out, a predefined web page can be opened in the initial window (for example, your intranet signpost). It can be defined by the system administrator.

See the vmconfig.properties topic for technical information.
