Perspectives
Perspectives are predefined layout variants of each individual business view.
Up to 3 perspectives may be available for a business view. Each perspectives approaches the underlying business view functionality in a different way.
![]() | A perspective offering quick access to often used functionality via customizable smart tiles. |
![]() | Work Page (Working Area) A perspective in which most of the actual data processing is done. |
![]() | A perspective providing data overview via a set of dashboard InfoObjects. |
Notes on the Use of Perspectives
All business views have at least the Work Page perspective. Home and Dashboard perspectives are optional.
When switching between business views, USU Service Management tries to open the new business view on the same type of perspective. If the newly opened business view does not provide the perspective type, Work Page perspective gets opened by default.
See topic 'InfoObjects Flexibility' to learn about rearranging InfoObjects.
Toggling between Perspectives
With the business view of your choice selected, click the perspective icons in the navigation bar to toggle between available perspectives.
Perspectives Customization
Predefined perspectives can be customized at two levels:
End users can change the perspective content:
Start Page - add, delete and rearrange Smart Tiles, create additional subpages
Work Page, Dashboard Page - add, delete and rearrange InfoObjects
Note that end user InfoObject changes can be disabled for each individual business view by the administrator.
USU Service Management administrators can perform full customization and administration of business views, InfoObjects and Smart Tiles. Customization at this level also determines which perspectives will be available for individual business views.
